I just saw someone steal a bicycle from my next door neighbors.
I had my hand on the phone to call the police, but I wasn’t sure what was happening until it was too late.
The guy was walking around the back kinda sneakily. Considering that it’s 1:30 in the morning, that didn’t necessarily mean anything. Then I saw him look in the window. The man had the same build and dark complexion as the husband, so I couldn’t tell whether it was him or not.
The thing is that our neighbors are weird. The woman is the neighborhood cat lady. She feeds all the strays and they so they never stop hanging around. She gives me very strange looks when I walk to the mailbox. There’s something… odd… about her. Her husband is also a little bit weird. He’s always up really late at night and I generally can’t figure out what he’s doing. Yeah, the looking in the window was odd. Maybe they’d had a fight or something.
Nonetheless, I unholstered my phone and prepared to call 911 if he looked like he was going to try to make his way inside. Instead, he just hopped on the bike and drove off before I could really do anything.

Shame on you not protecting the cat lady’s property.
