So here’s some questions: does anyone not vote for president due to the Electoral College? Do third parties benefit because people in non-competitve states feel more comfortable voting for third parties since they live in non-competitive states? If not, to both, then why not? I have some thoughts but want to hear what you think (if anything).

  1. I think people in non-competitive states are more likely to throw their votes away on third party, vanity, wacko candidates since they already feel their vote doesn’t count so they might as well make it official and throw it away.

  2. That’s my plan, anyway!

(In all truthfulness, I’m voting for Johnson precisely because I believe that, of the three, he is the candidate that would make the best president. Unlike previous third party candidates, he actually has a record and a biography I would actually vote for in a primary.

If I lived in a more competitive state or we based elections on a popular vote - I might not be afforded this luxury and would have to make the decision between the primary two candidates.)
