HCW: The Marshall Tucker Band

The MTB classic, Can’t You See*:

I couldn’t find a good MTB recording of “Fire on the Mountain”, so here’s a pretty solid cover:

I’m not generally a fan of country songs that fixate on the old west, but I found this song riveting. It also includes a line that sin and Satan that I quote to myself frequently.

* - Absurdly, if you look up “Can’t You See” in Wikipedia, it takes you to some R&B song from the nineties as the default instead of either this version of the Greatful Dead’s.

  1. I think I’ve heard that one before. But I always thought they were saying “Kansas City,” not “Can’t you see.”

  2. Yeah, that was a great song. Goes well with the Allman Bros.’ “Whipping Post.”

Evil femme fatales emotionally torturing helpless men–what’s not to like? :)
